This will be a little different from my usual posts. So I have been away for about two months. I have just been overly busy, and trying to figure out how to fit everything in.

 

Rather than just jumping back in with another post, I figured I would give a quick rundown on what’s been going on with me.

 

Weight Loss Challenge

I started a weight loss challenge with a group of ladies from church and my small city I live in. I am super excited about it because whoever loses the biggest percentage of weight will win the pot which is $300.00. If that isn’t motivation, I don’t know what is.

 

Trim Healthy Mama

Around the same exact time as the weight loss challenge I decided to try the Trim Healthy Mama plan. It is a healthy eating lifestyle, not a diet. It is really a lot to learn, but it’s worth it. I will probably be doing a review on the plan as well as some of their products on my other blog A Housewifes Life, so if you are interested in that, check it out.

 

 

If you are already familiar with Trim Healthy Mama, Amazon carries their products, and a lot of it is available on prime. They have recipe books as well as their own specially formulated products. However, it isn’t necessary to purchase any of these items to be successful on THM.

 

Health Issues

In March I found out I am diabetic. My doctor put me on Metformin which does horrible things to the gut. I am limiting carbs and cut out all sugar except stevia. I have lost about 20 pounds in 6-weeks.

Work

Back in February I also started working again. I am a substitute teacher in my parish. It is slow going right now, and with summer break quickly approaching, I will be out of work until August. I am hoping that when the next school year starts my subbing can pick up and become more regular.

 

Topic Ideas

Since I have been gone awhile, I need some ideas for articles to write. What are some topics you guys might be interested in? I will be getting back to my organization and decorating articles as well. Please leave me some comments below!

    So sorry to hear about the diabetes. 🙁
    On a happier note, you have lost 20 lbs and stand to win $300. Also I find it so interesting that my wife is always focused on “the gut” and is reading the book that you highlighted. (Great minds?)

    1. Jo, I am so sorry it has taken me so long to respond. With the kids out of school for summer it has been hectic. THM essentially is eating your fuel sources separately. You can have healthy fats as well as healthy carbs but you must keep them separate with at least 3 hours between meals so your body has time to burn off that source before introducing a new source. It isn’t as much of an issue to eat closer together if, for example, both your breakfast and snack are S meals, which just means satisfying (fat meal). E meals are energy meals and those are carb meals. And the other main detail of the plan is absolutely no sugar! The sisters that wrote the book don’t even allow artificial sweeteners on plan because this plan is all about healing the body and being healthy. There is so much more to it, and if you are interested in it I would highly recommend the book. You can also find a lot of information online. Have a good day!
